STONESTREET GENEAOLOGY
This site has been put together to aid research into Stonestreet family history. My branch of the Stonestreet family
originates from East Sussex England and I still live in Sussex
albeit West Sussex but the rest of my family are still
in the East. During the last six years that I have been researching the
Stonestreet family I have had the pleasure to make contact with other genealogists
from all over the World. If you have been looking into the Stonestreet name for
any length of time you will now that the name itself comes from Roman times and
in particular their roads. Stone roads, Stone Street,
Stonestreet.
Other forms of the
name are, Stonestreat, Stonestreete,
Stonestret, Stonestrete, Stoneystreet, Stoneystret, Stonestrat, Stoneystrat, Stoneystrait, Stonstreet, Stonestreeter, Stonesreet, Stonestreter, Stonstret, Stonistreet, Stonystreet, Stonstrete, Stonsterest, Stonestred, Stonnystreet, Stonestrut, Stonesret, Stanestret, Stonystret, Stonistret, Stanistreet, Stoneskeet,
Stanisstreet, Stannistreet,
Stainistreet, Stonnystret, Stonestraus, Stonesket, Stainstreet, Stannisstreet, Stanistret, Stanistreat, Stanastret, Stonest, Stannistret, Stainistret, Stanisstret, Stonestrom, Stoneysheet, Stanstrete, Stenstraete, Stannisstret, Stainstret, Stonestwate, Stonesworth, Stoneyshet, Stonesse, Stonelie, Stonesorel, Stonesbee, Stonese.
If you live in the UK then there is probably a Stone Street
near you, take minute and go to
www.streetmap.co.uk
and type in Stone Street select “Street”
and see how man Stonestreets are found and while your
at it try Stane Street.
What I haven’t had time to do at the moment but would like
to try and do is to see how many of the Stonestreets
are typical Roman roads ie straight and how many of
them are near know Roman sites (That should keep me going through the winter to
come).
